Zi ("the app") is a simple app for learning Mandarin Chinese Hanzi, made for English-speaking learners.

We built Zi to respect your privacy.

Zi does not collect, transmit, sell, or share your personal data. There is no account, no sign-in, and no server — based on the app's current design, everything runs on your device.

Information we collect

• None that leaves your device. Zi has no analytics, no advertising, and no third-party tracking, and it does not send your information to us or to anyone else.
• We do not operate a server and cannot see how you use the app.

Information stored on your device

To make the app work, Zi saves your learning data locally on your device using the operating system's standard on-device storage.

This can include:

• Saved words and learned words
• Review progress and your daily streak
• Topics and interests you choose
• App settings (such as level, script, voice, theme, and reminder settings)

This information stays on your device and is not accessible to us.
